Jawa Philanthropic Initiative "Jawa Gives" Makes Big Impact in 2010Friday, December 24th, 2010
Scottsdale, AZ - December 24, 2010 – Jawa is wrapping up 2010 with a successful year of philanthropy stemming from its employee-driven charity program ‘Jawa Gives,’ implemented by Jawa CEO Jason Hope. The program gives staff the opportunity to contribute to their favorite local cause or non-profit organization. Since ‘Jawa Gives’ launched last April, a different charity, nominated by an employee, was chosen each month to receive a donation from Jawa. ‘Jawa Gives’ was started by Hope, who wanted employee input in choosing where Jawa’s charitable funds would go.
“Jawa is a Phoenix-based company and we wanted to give back to the community we call home. More importantly, I wanted all employees to have a say what organizations we give donations to. 2010 has been a great year for us and I’m looking forward to an even better year ahead for both business and charitable giving,” said Jawa CEO Jason Hope.
Through 'Jawa Gives,' Jawa has had the pleasure of donating to and working with such organization as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Desert Mountain States Chapter, Donor Network of Arizona, Phoenix Zoo, Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association (POSA) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix and Greater Scottsdale.
Additionally, Jawa staff was encouraged to volunteer and participate in various events including POSA’s ‘Back to School Shop with a Cop program,’ the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s ‘Walk to Cure Diabetes’ and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale’s Adopt-a-Family program.
“I’m so proud of my staff for such active and overwhelming participation in our volunteer efforts this year. We have a great group of people working at Jawa; it’s my goal to create a positive and inspirational work environment where employees know that giving back is valued just as much as they are,” said Hope.
